1956 National R151

Original floorplan is here.

The R151 is a three bedroom with a full basement.  I've added a bath next to the laundry room in the basement, so there's two baths.
As usual, base game only needed, no CC included.

As you can see, I didn't use the carport as a carport.

Instead it's a covered patio.

I moved the Watsons in for testing.
Come on in!

The living room.  Mr Watson reads.

The angled fireplace.
The dining area.
As you can probably see, I've tried my best to replicate the rather famous cracked ice laminate that was so popular in the fifties.
Not only did I have a wonderful chrome trimmed dining table with a grey cracked ice top, but Peanut has a little play table made in that era with chrome legs and trim and a red cracked ice top, not too unlike this table.
My beloved table didn't survive my ex's "Let's butcher our own deer and save money this year" experiment.  Not that I'm still bitter.
My current desk is a forties enamel table with chrome hairpin legs, so it can't be that bad.
Teehee!  Back to the house, which is what we're here for, right?

View into the kitchen.  Per usual, Mrs Watson is cooking something.
You'd think I'd let my Sims do something other than skilling, but no.  They can stop skilling when the Grim Reaper is looming over their curled up body.
More of the kitchen.
Steel cabinets and cracked ice laminate!  Oh yeah!  I'd love it if someone made some nice chrome trim steel cabinets.  EA did make some decent midcentury cabinets in their Store, but they're not quite what I need.

Upstairs bath, in coral, blue and yellow.
Boy's room.
Girl's room.
Master bedroom...
With room for pollination spread!
The basement rec room.  Yes, Jeremy Watson is skilling logic!
The laundry room, awaiting your additions!
The covered patio.
The backyard, with apple tree privacy screen.
The garden shed, and Jeffrey Watson staring.
Staring.

So if you like a ranch with a bit more sprawl:

  1. It's my new favourite :). I have a retro-loving newlywed couple, and I think this house will be just perfect for them. Thanks, Zenka!
